At the end of the season, when the summer crowds have gone, Saint-Tropez belongs to the sailors. Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez gathers classic yachts, maxis and modern boats in the gulf for a week of racing. The 2027 edition runs from 25 September to 2 October, organised by the Société Nautique de Saint-Tropez.
It is a regatta first and a social week second, which is why it appeals to people who already know the Riviera and prefer it quiet.
The regatta
Classic yachts, maxis and modern boats sail together in the Gulf of Saint-Tropez, and the fleet is as much a spectacle in port as on the water. For anyone who loves boats, it is the most beautiful gathering of the Riviera’s autumn.
Where to stay
A villa on the peninsula gives you what the village cannot in high summer: space, silence and a short drive to the quay. Ramatuelle, Gassin, the private estates of Les Parcs and the Pampelonne side each offer a different setting. Our Saint-Tropez villa collection is the place to start, and our guide to renting a luxury villa in Saint-Tropez explains how the season works.
On the water
The best view of a regatta is from a boat. A yacht chartered in Saint-Tropez lets you follow the racing, anchor for lunch in a quiet bay and return to the port in the evening. For a longer stay, our Saint-Tropez to Portofino itinerary shows how the week can continue along the coast.
Tables and getting around
Roads to the peninsula are slow at peak hours; by sea, or by helicopter, the journey is far shorter. A private chef at the villa is often the best answer to the village’s busy restaurants, and our guide to Saint-Tropez covers the rest.
