See the chaletsMeribel occupies the central valley of the Three Valleys: from its slopes you reach Courchevel and Val Thorens without ever getting back in a car. It is the same skiing as Courchevel 1850, in a village of wood and slate held since 1938 to an architectural charter that forbids exposed concrete, at a third to a half less for genuinely comparable standard.
Meribel is not a village but a valley of hamlets stepped between 1,100 and 1,750 metres. The sector matters more than the resort.
The highest and most snow-sure point in the valley, at the foot of the Mont Vallon. Genuine ski-in / ski-out across most of the sector, and the most direct departure towards Val Thorens. Less picturesque than the centre, considerably more efficient on skis.
The road climbing from the centre to the Belvédère holds the largest properties in the valley, set back and under the trees. Open views across the massif, complete quiet, and the centre a few minutes away.
A discreet slope above the centre, valued for its aspect and its calm. Chalets sit further apart here, with south-facing terraces over the valley.
La Chaudanne, the main lifts, the tables and the shops. The sector for anyone who wants to walk out in the evening.
The valley's two authentic hamlets, linked to the domain but away from its noise. Les Allues keeps a year-round village life.
Market benchmarks observed across chalets comparable to ours: six to seven bedrooms, twelve to fifteen sleeping, staffed. The rate we quote for a chalet covers the rental of the property; staffing and services are priced alongside it.
Two and a half hours by road, the usual gateway. Chauffeured transfers in vehicles equipped for winter conditions.
Chambéry is closest at one hour forty-five; Lyon works better from southern Europe, at two and a half hours.
Chambéry, Grenoble and Annecy take jets. The Courchevel altiport is twenty minutes by road from Meribel.
From Geneva or Chambéry to the valley pads. On a Saturday changeover in high season, several hours saved.
Moûtiers is thirty minutes away, served by TGV from Paris and by the Eurostar ski train from London in season.
Passes collected, equipment fitted at the chalet, instructors and off-piste guides reserved, transfers timed to your flight, a table where tables are not given. The chalet is the easy part.
