Antibes is where the Mediterranean charter fleet actually lives. Port Vauban is the largest yacht harbour in Europe, the Quai des Milliardaires holds vessels of a scale that has to be seen from the dock to register, and the town behind it is a working yachting centre — refit yards, crew agencies, chandleries, and several thousand people whose profession is boats. Opera Prestige charters from here across the full range, from open day boats to superyachts.
The practical advantage is decisive: because so much of the fleet winters and refits in Antibes, this is the easiest port on the coast in which to visit a yacht before chartering it. Twenty minutes on board tells you more than any brochure, and out of season most vessels can be seen within a day or two of asking.
The cruising ground is equally kind. The Îles de Lérins lie thirty minutes west, the anchorages of the Cap d'Antibes are ten minutes from the harbour mouth, Villefranche is under an hour east and Saint-Tropez around two hours. Few charters need a long first passage from here.

Our Commitment

Antibes Yacht Charter — Opera Prestige Advantage

Chartering from the port where the fleet is based changes what is possible — in choice, in inspection, and in the speed of solving anything that goes wrong.

  • 01

    Visit Before You Charter

Most of the Mediterranean fleet is berthed or in refit here. We arrange viewings on board, which almost no other port on the coast allows at scale.

  • 02

    Depth of Fleet

From 40ft open boats to the Quai des Milliardaires. If a yacht exists on this coast for your dates, it is findable from Antibes.

  • 03

    Crews We Know

Antibes is where crews live between charters. We place vessels on the strength of the captain and chef, not the brochure.

  • 04

    Villa & Yacht Together

Coordinated with a house on the Cap or above Juan-les-Pins — see our Antibes villa rentals.

Expert Guide

Antibes Yacht Charter: Your Options

01

Day Charter

The Lérins and the Cap

Thirty minutes west lie Sainte-Marguerite and Saint-Honorat — shallow, protected, and quiet by six in the evening once the day boats have gone. Ten minutes south, the eastern anchorages of the Cap d’Antibes are calm in a westerly and deep close in. Between the two, it is the best short cruising ground on the Riviera. Our day cruise itineraries set out the routes.

02

Port Vauban

The Quai des Milliardaires

The deep-water quay at the eastern end of Port Vauban takes the largest private yachts afloat, and berths there are allocated well ahead of the season. For charters at that scale the berth is arranged in parallel with the vessel, not after it.

03

Extended

A Week from Antibes

East to Villefranche and the Italian border, west to the Estérel, Saint-Tropez and the Hyères islands. Antibes sits close enough to the middle of the coast that no direction costs you a day. For longer routing, see our itinerary from Saint-Tropez to Portofino.

04

Families

Charters with Children

The short legs and flat anchorages around Antibes make it the most forgiving base on the coast for a family charter. Netting, cabin adjacency and the right toys are agreed before embarkation — the detail is in our note on chartering with children.

Planning

Antibes Yacht Charter — Best Seasons

April – June

Fleet in Port

The fleet is on the coast and not yet committed. The best window to view yachts on board and to negotiate dates for the summer.

July – August

High Summer

Peak charter season across the whole fleet. The Lérins and Golfe-Juan anchorages are busy by eleven — we plan the mornings accordingly.

September – October

The Best Water

The warmest sea of the year and a coast that has emptied. September is the strongest charter month on this part of the Riviera.
