There are three ways into the Three Valleys by air, and they are not equivalent. A jet lands in the valley, at Chambéry, Grenoble, Annecy or Geneva, and the road or a helicopter takes over. A helicopter sets down in resort. The Courchevel altiport is a case of its own.
At 2,008 metres, its 537-metre runway carries a gradient reaching 18.66 percent, the steepest in the world for an airport open to traffic. Landing there requires a site qualification held by fewer than a hundred pilots, and aircraft over 2.5 tonnes need prior authorisation from the French civil aviation authority.
It is also why helicopters account for close to sixty percent of movements. We arrange all three, and we say which one makes sense on your dates.

What we arrange

Private jet

Chambéry, Grenoble, Annecy and Geneva take business aviation close to the Three Valleys. Slots, handling and the onward leg to resort arranged as one.

Helicopter

The most flexible mode, and by far the most used. From the arrival airport to the Meribel pads or the Courchevel altiport, in minutes of flying.

Courchevel altiport

For qualified aircraft and crews, the most direct arrival in the French Alps. We check whether your aircraft is eligible and handle the authorisations.

Our Commitment

What to know before planning on the altiport

This is where expectation and regulation part company most often.

  • 01

    Not every aircraft can land

Above 2.5 tonnes, prior authorisation from the French civil aviation authority is required. A conventional business jet does not land at Courchevel: it lands in the valley, and a helicopter takes over.

  • 02

    Nor every crew

The mountain site qualification is held by fewer than a hundred pilots. It is not an administrative formality but a real competence, on a runway that allows no go-around.

  • 03

    The weather decides

In the mountains a slot is confirmed the day before and reconfirmed in the morning. We always hold a road fallback, priced in advance.

  • 04

    One single quote

The chalet rate covers the rental of the property. Air travel, like transfers and staffing, is priced alongside it and set out in the same document before anything is committed.

Expert Guide

Four points of entry by air, and which suits which aircraft.

01

Geneva

The largest hub nearby, with a full business aviation terminal. Two and a half hours by road afterwards, or minutes by helicopter. The default choice for long-haul arrivals.

02

Chambéry and Grenoble

The closest by distance, one hour forty-five to two hours by road. Chambéry is the natural base for helicopter legs into the Tarentaise.

03

Annecy

A discreet and well-equipped alternative for business aviation, often less congested than Geneva on high-season Saturdays.

04

The Courchevel altiport

LFLJ, 2,008 metres. Restricted to helicopters and light aircraft whose crew holds the site qualification. Where it is possible, it is the shortest arrival there is: minutes from the chalet.

Planning

When flying changes everything

Full Tarentaise changeover

Christmas and February Saturdays

This is where a helicopter earns its cost: the road can double, the flight does not. Slots are reserved at the same time as the chalet.

Saturated slots

Christmas and New Year

The pads and the altiport are worked well beyond their usual capacity. An arrival not booked in autumn becomes an arrival by road.

Flexibility returns

January and spring

Slots available at short notice and generally steadier flying conditions. The road becomes a comfortable option again.
